You don’t have to be a writing expert to look professional, intelligent and detailed. Writing can quickly improve using simple tricks. We write a lot during our workdays, so taking time to look over an email or note before sending it will improve how people perceive you as a professional.
In my previous posts about how to quickly improve your writing, I discussed a few tips on cleaning up whatever you are writing, whether it be an email or an important presentation. You can check these blog posts out here: Get Rid of These 5 Words to Improve Your Writing and Fix Your Writing Just Like ‘That’.
In this blog post, I follow my advice and give you quick tips instead of one or two tips with a lengthy explanation on why it works. Below you will find two charts of tips you can readily use to improve your work.
Analyze Your Work
Look back at a few things you wrote recently. Notice if you used some words listed in the charts below. Then, practice not using these the next thing you write. Only by writing more and looking for ways to improve will your writing improve.
Why is this important? It’s simple. Writing is a primary form of communication. Sometimes, writing is the only way we communicate with clients and team members during our workday. Our writing reflects our professional reputation. Getting better at writing will make you look more professional and give others the perception that you are detailed, thoughtful and care about what you do.
The tricks above are only a few things I use to improve a person’s work. I offer various services to professionals and companies to improve their communications. Whether it is an email or a large report, I help improve the writing to make it shine, allowing to look more professional. Please get in touch with me if you are interested in looking smarter.
